Priesthood- Call to be different

For too long, the priesthood has risked becoming a place where imperfections are ostracized, where merit and perfect health matter more than the fire of faith burning within. Those yearning to dedicate their lives to Christ are turned away because of low marks, physical challenges, or even as silly as high BP, focusing more on physical fitness than spiritual fitness.

Today, a beacon of hope shines. The ordination of a priest with hearing and speaking disabilities marks a turning point. It reminds us that God's call extends to every soul, regardless of ability. Witnessing his first mass, a celebration filled with such profound grace, should awaken us to the beauty of inclusion. Shouldn't our spaces, especially the holiest ones, reflect the boundless love of a Father who embraces all children, not just the outwardly "perfect".

May this ordination serve as a catalyst, urging other churches to open their doors wider, embracing the richness and diversity that God intended for his flock.
