The southern state of Karnataka woke up today, ready to march on to the election booths to cast their vote. Me and Alen chettan were also ready to take a walk and observe how the day was unfolding. After more than a month of fierce campaign battle, all three 3 major political players, namely BJP, Congress and JDS, anxiously await how the people have spoken.
The incumbent chief minister Basavaraj Bommai is fully confident that, he will win a record majority. Congress and JDS are trying to grab onto the majority. After 2018 although Congress and JDS were able to form a collation, it could not complete its full term due to defection. Hence this year's battle for Congress and JDS is about reclaiming the lost power. The fight is more notable for nascent Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, it is in his home state where the battle is happening, and it is also a test of trial for him as the grand old party leader. Karnataka witnessed the arrival of many star campaigners and humongous road shows, from Hon. PM Modi to Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi, among others.
Now it's in the hands of the people; some of the issues that the new government must resolve or what people expect is, a solution to the traffic issues faced in Bangalore, fast completion of the Nama Metro project, strengthening of public transport system and ensuring the cleanliness of the places, make the tax systems more friendly for companies are some among other issues.
